About
The UConn Innovation Hub for Conflict and Security seeks to advance research, education, and outreach on issues related to conflict and security, both in the United States and abroad. Our researchers work on issues such as terrorism, insurgency, mass violence, cyber welfare, and civil resistance.
The Innovation Hub for Conflict and Security has three goals. First, the hub will develop specialized courses and academic programs, enabling students to gain in-depth knowledge in conflict and security studies. It will provide hands-on learning experiences, allowing students to engage in real-world case studies and collaborate with experts in the field.
Second, through public lectures, seminars, and speaker series, the hub will foster dialogue and collaboration with policymakers, military leaders, and international organizations. The hub will also strengthen UConn’s connections with the community by bringing national and global experts to campus and facilitating student engagement.
Third, the hub will support and expand faculty-led research initiatives, especially in collaboration with institutions focused on national and international security. It will facilitate access to research grants and sponsor opportunities for students to participate in pioneering projects, from analyzing insurgency dynamics to studying state-building efforts across regions.
